A Redfin alternative for the question listings can't answer

All comparisons

Redfin is one of the best places to look at homes for sale: listings straight from the MLS, photos, price history, and the Redfin Estimate for what a home is worth today. If you're touring homes this weekend, it's the right tool.

A listing tells you what a seller is asking now. It doesn't tell you what the home, or the neighborhood, is likely to be worth when you sell. That's the question Predictye is built for.

What Redfin does well

Fresh listings, tour booking, sold-home history, and neighborhood market stats. The Redfin Estimate gives a current value for most US homes, and Redfin's data center publishes market reports on prices, inventory, and days on market.

Where a current estimate stops

Today's value and today's inventory are a snapshot. Buying a home is a decision about the next five or ten years: what it might be worth then, and what renting instead would have cost.

What Predictye adds

Enter a ZIP code and Predictye shows the area's home values now and projected out to the year you choose, from the Federal Housing Finance Agency's ZIP-level house price index and current market data. The rent tool does the same for rent, now and in 2 and 5 years. Our rent-or-buy city pages put both side by side for 30 US cities.

What Predictye doesn't do

We don't list homes, value a specific address the way an agent would, or know a property's condition. For a specific house, use Redfin and a local agent. Use Predictye for the trend around it.

Frequently asked questions

Is Predictye a replacement for Redfin?

No. Redfin is for finding and buying a specific home; Predictye is for where an area's prices and rents are heading.

Can I use both?

Yes. Find the home on Redfin, then check the ZIP's forecast on Predictye before you offer.

Is Predictye free?
