What 15 Real Construction Companies Taught Us About Going Digital

Rather than theorizing about digital transformation in construction, researchers looked at 15 real companies that had actually gone through it, and pulled out what consistently worked.

One tool showed up far more than any other: building information modeling, essentially a detailed digital model of a project that everyone on the team can reference and update. Cloud-based systems and connected sensors played supporting roles, but the digital model was the clear center of gravity across almost every case studied.

The payoff wasn't abstract either. Companies reported more accurate cost estimates, real cost reductions, faster work, and fewer errors, the kind of gains that show up directly on a balance sheet, not just in a satisfaction survey. Some companies went further, using their new digital capability to build entirely new service offerings they couldn't have offered before.

The takeaway for anyone watching this space, including a company like Predictye thinking about where construction data is headed, is that the winning move so far hasn't been the flashiest new tool. It's been getting the foundational, shared model right first, then building everything else on top of it.

Don't guess. Just Predictye.
