Planning a move, a new baby, college, a trip, or a first car? Pick what you're planning for, tick what you'll need, and Predictye shows what it costs new and used — today, in 1 year, and in 5 years — so you can decide what to buy, when, and whether used is the smarter call.
How it works
Each plan starts from a list of the things people typically need for that event, with estimated new and used prices now, in one year, and in five years. Add a budget and Predictye switches the items where buying used saves the most until the plan fits. For a new place, it adds an estimated monthly rent for your ZIP; for a trip, the cost of where you'll stay.
What you can customize
What you're planning for, which items you need, your budget, and — depending on the plan — your ZIP code and home type, or where you'll stay and for how many nights.
What this doesn't do
Prices are planning estimates for typical items, not live quotes from a store. The plan doesn't include taxes, delivery, or fees.
When is buying used the smarter move?
When the used price today is much lower and the item loses much of its value in the first year anyway. The plan shows new and used prices side by side, so the gap is easy to see.
Should I buy now or wait?
Compare today's price with the 1-year price for each item. If an item is likely to be meaningfully cheaper in a year and you don't need it yet, waiting saves money; if you need it now, buying used is often the bigger saving.
Frequently asked questions
How far out can I plan?
Item prices are shown for today, one year out, and five years out; rent estimates for today, two years, and five years.
Does this account for taxes or fees?
Not currently — treat the plan as pre-tax, pre-fee.
Can I set a savings goal tied to a future purchase?
Not in the Plan tool — you can set a budget for the plan. For a home, the property forecast includes a monthly savings plan for a 20% down payment by your target year.
